Who is Dr. Steve McKnight?
	Dr Steve McKnight is a Mesita alumnus who now serves as the Distinguished Chair in Basic Biomedical Research and is the Sam G. Winstead and F. Andrew Bell Distinguished Chair in Biochemistry at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas.

What is the Steve McKnight Award of Excellence?
	Through his foresight and generosity, Dr. McKnight has established the Steve McKnight Award of Excellence to be awarded each year to the Teacher of the year and the top academic graduating 5th grade student. The award comes with a $1,000 prize for the teacher and $1,000 worth of computer hardware and software for the student.
